The 2016 Konawaena Homecoming Parade is one of the school’s biggest celebrations and most honored traditions. This year, it was part of Spirit Week, with students flaunting their school pride. The parade was part of the football game.

Students from each grade level got into teams to create banners that represented their class and show dominance over the opponent, Kealakehe High School. This year’s Homecoming Parade took place on September 23, 2016 on the track of the Julian R.Yates Field. Students showed up to support their team, split up into their grade level sections, bring along glow sticks, sound makers, and tons of balloons!

After the junior varsity game came to its tragic end, the varsity team made their way onto the field. At that moment, the field and stands buzzed with hysteria and excitement! Students from all grade levels emblazoned their school spirit by creating chants and cheering their hearts out! “Students cheered so loud that I lost my voice and hearing!” said Junior Patricia Flores.

Overall, each class poured their hearts out for the football team. The students were the epitome of our school pride, and the parade was a triumphant success!
