On Friday, October 21, 2016, Konawaena and HPA’s girls’ volleyball teams faced off against one another at Kealakehe High School’s gymnasium for their championship game. The girls played a five-set match, unlike the usual three-set, required to win three out of five.

The Wildcats started off on a strong foot, going 25-16 in the first set, showing dominance over HPA. In the second set, the Wildcats won 25-13, and during a timeout, students from Konawaena sang “Happy Birthday” to Tori Victor. In the third set, HPA took the lead in the beginning, but in the end, the Wildcats came through scoring 25-18 in the final set of the night.

Konawaena’s team worked hard to secure the championship title for the BIIF Division II. Congratulations the girls on their win, and good luck on their future endeavors!
