At the beginning of the quarter, Konawaena High School students were excited to hear what happened in winter sports. Unless you had been able to attend the games that occurred, then it’s likely that you missed where your favorite school teams stands. (Wins: Losses: Ties)

Girl’s Basketball D1: 9-0 (First)

Boy’s Basketball D1: 6-0 (First)

Girl’s Soccer D1: 4-3-3 (Second)

Boy’s Soccer D1: 4-5-2 (Fifth)

After this, regarding basketball, the boys’ team played against Kealakehe on January 20th, Pahoa on the 23rd, Ka’u on the 25th, and Waiakea on the 30th. For the Girls team, there were games against Waiakea on the 21st, a BIIF semi-finals on the 26th, and BIIF championship game on the 27th. For the boys’ soccer team, they had a game against Makua Lani on January 28th.

Finally, I leave you all with wise words from Bill Trumbo, “You can’t always be good at sports, but you can always be a good sport.”
