Deadlines are approaching and graduation day is only four months away. A large concern for seniors this time of the year is finding the money to pay for college. Ms.Serina the college counselor mentions that there are millions of scholarships to apply for. She says scholarships range from being, academic, ethnic, athletic, and leadership related. There are also various price ranges for scholarships, some are $500 while others are $10,000. Ms.Serina says the main reason why students should apply for scholarships is that it is simply free money. Many students feel unreasonably intimidated by other students when applying. Some feel like they aren’t smart enough or good enough, but there is a scholarship for everyone. In terms of it being too late to apply for scholarships, although there are some past their due dates, Ms.Serina says “its a bottomless pit”, but the sooner the better. Scholarships are easy to find, just looking up “scholarships” on google will give you hundreds of results and you can expand your research. If you have any questions regarding scholarships you can visit Mr.Serina in the college center or follow @Ms.Serina on instagram.
