The Wahine Wildcat volleyball team placed second during the recently completed BIIF D-2 Girl’s Volleyball Championships.  The girl’s opened the tournament with a straight set victory over Honokaa, 25-12, 25-16, 25-12. They followed that up with a 3-2 semifinal victory over Hawaii Preparatory Academy, 19-25, 25-16, 20-25, 25-14, and 15-10.


In the finals the team faced the number one seeded Kohala Cowgirl’s.  They started out the first set on a roll and had 21-16 lead when the Cowgirls grabbed the bull by the horns and scored the next 9 points for the 25-21 first set victory.  The Wildcats would prevail in the third set 25-22, but the Cowgirls took the second and fourth sets 25-7 and 25-18 to capture the BIIF D-2 volleyball title.


Senior Keala Acol and junior Malie Grace lead the way for the Wildcats and will be relied on heavily as the team heads to Oahu for the HHSAA State Tournament which begins on Oct. 24th.
