What do you think of when you hear “Valentine’s day?” Hearts? Red roses? Chocolates? Sweet candies? A dinner for two? Or maybe even a walk on the beach with your special someone? While February 14 is just around the corner, there are romantics everywhere. The rush of trying to plan for the most romantic event this holiday season with your other half, and wonderment filling the air with the thought of the same thing: “How can I make this Valentine’s Day special this year?” Of course, there’s that modern tradition idea of having a candlelit dinner with chocolate gifts and roses, but wouldn’t you want to mix it up a little (or a lot) during this memorable holiday?

Let’s ditch the “dinner and chocolates” for something a little more creative and one-of-a-kind. Don’t you think that sounds like a great idea? So instead of stressing over Valentine day plans this year, simply choose an activity that seems to grab your attention the most, and whether or not you wanted to stay indoors with a movie marathon or venture out into the great outdoors this Valentine’s Day, you are, of course, granted to have a good time. After all, you’ll be spending the day together.

One thing you can do outdoors is going to an arcade. You can get into the competitive mode in speed racing games while having so much fun, or you can win a cute teddy bear prize for your lover as a sweet Valentine keepsake. Another thing indoors you can do is have a Valentine bake-off to see who can make the best (and most festive) Valentine’s Day desserts. Especially the one who can make anything heart-shaped of course. You can even do a picnic, outside or inside, sounds like fun right, especially if you’re totally in it to devour the food you prepare. Before all that, you can’t forget to bring out the checkered tablecloth, it wouldn’t be considered a “picnic” as you know that’s what brings it all together.

If you feel like going away from your house this Valentine’s Day, you can choose to spend the night in a fancy hotel room, or you can even spend the night under the stars. Forget about all the creatures outside, get a tent and go ahead and set up a camp outside someplace and just vibe. One last idea that I have in which will most likely be one of many people’s favorites is a movie marathon! Everyone enjoys movies if you’re watching it with someone, most likely the one you love. Let’s gather the popcorn, snacks, and drinks and get in a blanket to watch your favorite TV shows or movies.

Whatever activity you plan to do this valentine, don’t forget that you have an excuse to be cheesy. Who doesn’t enjoy embarrassing your significant other on valentines with pictures or anything you could that you both could laugh about, right? While Valentine’s day is all that great sounding, don’t forget that Valentine’s Day is not only for spending time with your significant other but also with family and friends. Getting together and doing activities with family and friends is always a heartwarming thing which is great for memory making. Don’t forget, Valentine’s Day is a day for love, don’t forget to spread kindness to all.
